چکیده

PurposeThis report aims to describe the surgical technique of using a reversed distal clavicle locking plate achieve fixation across sternoclavicular (SC) joint, and functional pain outcomes operative treatment medial fracture non-union. We hypothesized that this would facilitate bony healing improve function in patients with clavicular non-union.ResultsAge at time surgery ranged from 37-71 years; all them were male. Time 1.1 1.8 years. 2 former smokers, both whom had quit prior treatment. Preoperative VAS scores 4-9, while postoperative 1-6. Outcome obtained after planned hardware removal over 3 years initial Final American Shoulder Elbow Surgeons (ASES) 45 81.7, Patient Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System- Upper Extremity (PROMIS-UE) 40.4 55.7, Quick-Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (QuickDASH) 2.3 27.5. Two very satisfied outcome (5 on 5-point satisfaction scale), one was unsatisfied (2 scale).ConclusionsInternal joint is an option for symptomatic non-unions.

Open reduction and internal fixation of a distal clavicle fracture using a clavicle hook plate

Historically, fractures of the clavicle have been treated nonoperatively. However, it is becoming much more common for orthopedic surgeons to treat clavicle fractures with open reduction and internal fixation-particularly fractures of the lateral clavicle with high rates of nonunion, such as the Neer type II. Several techniques and devices are currently being used for clavicle fixation. We pres...

Surgical repair of distal femoral fracture in a wild gray wolf (Canis lupus)

A 3-year-old wild gray wolf was referred to the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of ShirazUniversity with a history of car accident. The radiographic examination showed supracondylar distal femoralfracture in right leg. The wolf was pre-medicated by acepromazine followed by induction of anesthesia usinga combination of diazepam and ketamine. Anesthesia was maintained by halothane. The...

Clinical results of treatment using a clavicular hook plate versus a T-plate in neer type II distal clavicle fractures.

AO clavicular hook plate fixation provides more rigid fixation and good bony union rates for Neer type II distal clavicular fractures. However, the hook may cause rotator cuff tears and subacromial impingement, which adversely affect the clinical results. T-plate fixation is another surgical method of treatment for unstable clavicle fractures, and its clinical efficacy has been demonstrated. Th...

Simultaneous of Mid Third Clavicle Fracture and Type 3 Acromioclavicular Joint Dislocation; A Case Report

Simultaneous mid third clavicle fracture and acromioclavicular joint dislocation is a rare combination injury, as a result of high-energy trauma. We report a patient with a middle third clavicle fracture and ipsilateral grade three-acromioclavicular joint dislocation, which is a rare combination. The patient wanted to get back to work as soon as possible, so the fracture was fixed with recons...
